($20M in Series A Funding)
In healthcare, MediVis raised $20 million for its groundbreaking use of augmented reality (AR) in surgical procedures.
MediVis was co-founded by Osamah Choudhry, MD, a neurosurgeon, and Christopher Morley, MD, a radiologist.
The funding round was led by Thrive Capital, and included participation from Initialized Capital, Breyer Capital, Mayo Clinic Ventures, and other investors.
Why we like it: MediVis’ AR technology offers surgeons a real-time, 3D map of the patient’s body during surgery. This integration with MRI and CT scans provides highly accurate visuals, enhancing surgical precision across specialties like neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and more.
